Hello friends,

It's September in Southern Ohio. September is one of our rewards for living
here. At night the mist settles in the fields and the moon rises, and it's as
close as we come to looking out across an Ohio Ocean. The night is so still
sometimes. The backlit clouds move silently across the leaning down moon, and the
entire farm becomes a sacred space. I walk the perimeter at night. I keep a
low, after dark profile. I try not to break the spell.

We're long overdue for an update letter, and we have lots of Over the Rhine
news, which we'll be passing along your way soon. We've been mostly hunkered
down writing and recording, hence the hermit tendencies. We are fortunate to
still be making music, and we can't wait to share the new songs with those of you
who have ears to hear, those of you who have made it possible for us to
continue. We are grateful for all of you.

We're going to slip away from the farm this week for a few extended evenings
of acoustic music, a few stories, some conversation. We do hope you'll join us
if you're able. We'll be playing as an acoustic trio, joined by an upright
bass player from Tennessee. Friendly fellow, we think you'll like… We'll tease
you with a handful of songs from the recording we plan to release next year.
We'll play a few old favorites. We'll see what happens.

Hope to see you.

We'll send out the full Over the Rhine update soon, busting with what we have
planned for the rest of the year, and even a bit beyond. Some exciting
developments to report: throw caution to the wind.

In the meanwhile, here's the dirt:

An evening of acoustic music with Over the Rhine:

Thu Sep 07: Indianapolis, IN, The Music Mill

Fri Sep 08: St. Louis, MO, Blueberry Hill

Sat Sep 09: Chicago IL, The Wine Crush in Old Town, 1528 Wells (Wells and
North Ave.)
Over the Rhine's set time is at 6:15 pm

If you'd like to help us with our cd table in exchange for a few free
tickets, please contact Brandon at overtherhine.com. In the subject, please put: OtR
MERCH VOLUNTEER, and the name of the city in all caps. If you don't hear back
from us, it simply means that we have it sorted out.

Much more to announce soon, stay tuned!

Linford (and Karin comin' atcha with her black-eyed susans...)
